Journal: Week ten...
The puppy palace: changing of the guard.
On Sunday we decided that the four foot high x-pen would not serve any longer as the puppies could reach up more than three of those feet and make the x-pen shake - and, despite corner bracing, cause it to lean when three or more puppies decided to jump up on the same place, which they did a lot. So off to Home Depot to buy sections of a 6 foot high chain link kennel. Of course, not realizing that there was a top and a bottom and an inside and an outside we had to put it together several times.
On Wednesday the puppies decided that it would be fun to eat the tarp that was serving as the floor of the puppy palace, so off to the local flooring outlet store to buy a "cheap" piece of vinyl flooring. We installed that early Thursday morning and, of course, that involved disassembling the pen yet again. The palace has certainly changed over the last ten weeks!
The puppies are doing what they are supposed to do: play, eat food,
produce poop and pee, eat more food, sleep a lot, eat the furniture and
floor, sleep some more and then play some more. Did I say poop and pee
some more?
They are all growing quickly, putting on between 3.5 to 5 pounds per week. Other than furniture and flooring, they now eat Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy Kibble with a bit of canned dog food and some yoghurt mixed in.
